Bunjy Jump, Zimbabwe

I ttok the plunge and did a bunjy jump off The Victoria Falls bridge which crosses over the top of the gorge, linking Zimbabwe and Zambia. It's 110 metres high, making it the highest commercial bunjy jump in the world! They wrap your ankles with 2 towels, and connect the bunjy rope to your ankles, which are bound together. Then you hop, hop over to the platform, hang on to the railings and look out at the deep, wide gorge in front of you. The guy says to me "Look left for the camera" (ok) "Look right for the video" (ok) "and look down to give yourself a good scare". "Jeesus it's high" I quivered when I looked straight down. Then he says "Remember, suicide is a painless experience". Which is not what you want to hear right about then! Then he shouts "Ready!" and really quickly "5-4-3-2-1-BUNJY!" and somewhere between him pushing and me jumping, there I was freefalling in the air 1 metre out from the edge of the bridge. It was such a shocking scare that I let out a huge bellowing roar, and then rapidly flew to the bottom of the gorge, bouncing up and down twice before swinging around on the end of the taut bunjy rope, suspended by my ankles, upside-down looking straight down at the water flowing below me. The feeling of relief is the most I've ever experienced, just what you could expect after jumping off 110 metres and not dying! It left me in a very relaxed state. I'd do it all over again.
